Emma Krasov

Born in Kiev, Ukraine, and a graduate of Kiev State University, she has worked as a screenwriter, movie critic, and journalist.  A play of hers was performed on stage in Kiev and other Ukrainian cities.  She has written lyrics to songs performed on the radio and in films.  Her articles and film reviews have appeared in both Ukrainian and Russian newspapers and magazines.  In 1992, she moved to the United States and lived in Chicago for nine years.  There, she published a Russian-language newspaper, Contact, and taught a class “Russian Cinema 1980-1990: Reel Life and Personal Affairs During Perestroika” in the Facets Multi-Media Cinematheque.  She also worked as an exhibit developer for the Field Museum.  She wrote an article “A Timeline of Russian Political History,” included in the book Kremlin Gold, published by Harry N. Abrams, Inc.  In 2002, iUniverse published Emma Krasov’s book Another Story.  It met rave reviews in major San Francisco Bay Area newspapers and was enthusiastically accepted at book signing events.
