years since this epic depiction of Good vs. Evil was released. Ironically,
its opening sequence was shot in Mosul, Iraq, another theater in which it
might be said that the forces of light and darkness are at battle today.
The equally affecting novel by William Peter Blatty, on which the movie
was based, was inspired by a true story which took place in Maryland in
the 1940s. |
